Phosphines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008775
Organic compounds containing a trivalent phosphorus atom bonded to three organic groups, with the general formula R3P. These compounds are analogous to amines but with phosphorus instead of nitrogen. Phosphines are widely used as ligands in coordination chemistry and as reagents in organic synthesis, such as in the Wittig reaction.
