Antimony-xenon lamp

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000694

A high-pressure arc lamp in which an electrical discharge passes through xenon mixed with antimony vapour, giving an intense broadband output across the ultraviolet, visible and near-infrared regions. The antimony is added to a plain xenon fill, as in a xenon lamp. Its ultraviolet output is higher than that of a mercury-xenon arc lamp.
