High-pressure mercury lamp
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005300
A type of gas-discharge lamp that produces light by passing an electric arc through vaporized mercury at high pressure. These lamps emit intense ultraviolet and visible radiation, making them useful sources for photochemical reactions and industrial curing processes. Their emission spectrum is characterized by strong lines at specific wavelengths.
