Mercury-xenon lamp

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007194

A type of arc lamp that produces a broad spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, ranging from the ultraviolet through the visible and into the infrared regions. It contains both mercury and xenon gases, which emit light when an electric current passes through them. These lamps are widely used as light sources in scientific instruments, including spectrophotometers and photochemical reactors.
