anti-Müllerian hormone
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000695
A glycoprotein hormone produced by the Sertoli cells in males and granulosa cells in females. In male fetuses, it causes the regression of the Müllerian ducts, which would otherwise develop into female reproductive organs. In adult females, it is a marker of ovarian reserve and is used in fertility assessments.
