Uterus

A hollow, muscular organ in female mammals that is part of the reproductive system. It serves as the site for the implantation of a fertilized ovum and the subsequent development of the fetus during gestation. The uterus undergoes cyclical changes in its lining, the endometrium, in response to hormonal fluctuations.
