Intrauterine

Relating to the location or occurrence of something within the uterus, the hollow, muscular organ of the female reproductive system where a fetus develops. The term is used in toxicology and medicine to describe exposures, conditions, or medical procedures that affect an organism during the gestational period before birth. For example, an intrauterine device is a form of contraception placed inside the uterus to prevent pregnancy.
