Contraceptive

A chemical substance, device, or method used to prevent pregnancy. Chemical contraceptives, such as hormonal pills, patches, or injections, typically function by inhibiting ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to block sperm, or altering the uterine lining to prevent implantation. Other methods include barrier devices like condoms, which physically prevent sperm from reaching the egg, and intrauterine devices (IUDs) that create an unfavorable environment for fertilization or implantation.
