Intrathecal

Relating to or introduced into the subarachnoid space, which surrounds the brain and spinal cord and contains cerebrospinal fluid. This route of administration is used for drugs that need to bypass the blood-brain barrier and act directly on the central nervous system. Examples include certain anesthetics, chemotherapy agents, and antibiotics.
