Epidural

Relating to the anatomical space located between the dura mater, the outermost membrane enveloping the brain and spinal cord, and the vertebral wall. This space contains lymphatics, spinal nerve roots, loose connective tissue, fatty tissue, and a network of small veins. The epidural space is the target site for the injection of local anesthetics and analgesics to provide regional anesthesia, commonly known as an epidural block.
