Dura mater
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003479
The outermost and toughest of the three meninges covering the brain and spinal cord, a thick fibrous membrane of dense connective tissue lying just inside the skull. It carries the meningeal blood vessels that supply the dura and bone, and its inner layer folds into partitions such as the falx cerebri and tentorium cerebelli and encloses the dural venous sinuses that drain blood from the brain.
