Tentorium
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013644
An extension of the dura mater that separates the cerebellum from the inferior portion of the occipital lobes of the cerebrum. This structure, also known as the tentorium cerebelli, forms a partition that supports the occipital lobes and prevents them from pressing on the cerebellum. It divides the cranial cavity into the supratentorial and infratentorial compartments, a distinction used in classifying brain tumors and injuries.
