Inferior cerebellar peduncle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005823
A thick bundle of nerve fibers that connects the medulla oblongata and spinal cord with the cerebellum. It primarily conveys sensory information from the body to the cerebellum, contributing to the maintenance of balance and posture. This structure, also known as the restiform body, is one of three paired peduncles that attach the cerebellum to the brainstem.
