Arnold-Chiari malformation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012886
A structural defect in the cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls balance, where the lower part of the cerebellum extends into the spinal canal. This congenital condition can compress the brainstem and spinal cord, leading to a range of neurological symptoms. There are several types, with Chiari I malformation being the most common, often diagnosed in adolescence or adulthood.
