Eventration

A bulging of abdominal contents, mainly the intestines, outward through a weak or defective area of the abdominal wall while the overlying skin stays intact. It differs from evisceration, in which the organs lie exposed outside the body. The condition is either present from birth or acquired through surgery or injury.
