Exomphalos

A congenital birth defect where some or all of the abdominal organs protrude through an opening in the abdominal wall at the umbilical cord. The organs are covered by a membrane, distinguishing it from gastroschisis where organs are exposed. Surgical repair is typically required shortly after birth.
