Aromatase

An enzyme, also known as estrogen synthase, that catalyzes the final step in estrogen biosynthesis from androgens. It converts androstenedione to estrone and testosterone to estradiol, playing a key role in sexual development and reproductive function. This enzyme is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily, specifically CYP19A1.
