Androgen receptor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000576

A nuclear receptor protein that binds to androgens, such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, mediating their biological effects. Upon ligand binding, the activated receptor translocates to the nucleus and regulates gene expression, influencing male sexual development and other androgen-dependent processes. It is a member of the steroid hormone receptor superfamily.
