Nuclear type I receptor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008122

A class of intracellular receptors that primarily bind to steroid hormones, such as glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids, and sex hormones. These receptors are located in the cytoplasm in an inactive state, often complexed with heat shock proteins. Upon ligand binding, they translocate to the nucleus to regulate gene transcription.
