Cytochrome P420
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013010
A denatured form of cytochrome P450, characterized by a shift in its Soret peak from approximately 450 nm to 420 nm in its reduced carbon monoxide-bound state. This spectral change indicates a loss of enzymatic activity, often due to harsh isolation procedures or chemical modification. It serves as an indicator of the integrity of cytochrome P450 preparations.
