Arithmetic mean

A measure of central tendency calculated by summing a set of numerical values and dividing by the number of values in the set. It represents the average value of a dataset. In analytical chemistry, it is frequently used to report the average of multiple measurements of a quantity, providing a single representative value for a series of observations.
