Number-average particle diameter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008162
A statistical measure of the average size of particles in a dispersed system, calculated by summing the diameters of all individual particles and dividing by the total number of particles. This average is sensitive to the presence of smaller particles. It is commonly determined using techniques like electron microscopy or dynamic light scattering.
