Equivalent particle diameter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004081

The diameter of a sphere that exhibits the same physical property as a non-spherical particle under specific measurement conditions. This concept is used to characterize the size of irregularly shaped particles in dispersed systems. For instance, it can be determined by sedimentation rate, light scattering, or sieving analysis.
