Arithmetic mean

A statistical measure of central tendency calculated by summing a set of values and dividing by the number of values in the set. It is commonly used in reservoir characterization to represent the average of properties like porosity or permeability when the data distribution is relatively symmetrical. This mean is sensitive to extreme values.
