Median
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002319
The central value in a sorted list of numerical data, which divides the set into an upper and a lower half of equal size. Unlike the arithmetic mean, it is not skewed by unusually high or low values, making it a useful measure of central tendency for reservoir properties like permeability or pore-throat size distributions. For an even number of data points, the median is calculated as the average of the two middle values.
