Logarithmic mean
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002211
A type of average used to represent the effective average of a quantity that changes exponentially over a given interval. It is calculated as the difference between two values divided by the natural logarithm of their ratio. This mean is applied in calculations involving fluid flow through porous media, such as determining average reservoir pressure or permeability in radial flow systems.
