Log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002210
A continuous record of physical properties of subsurface formations, measured by instruments lowered into a borehole. These measurements, such as resistivity, density, porosity, and natural gamma ray, are plotted against depth. Well logs provide data for identifying lithology, fluid content, and reservoir boundaries, with common types including gamma ray, resistivity, and sonic logs.
