Core gamma log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004278
A high-resolution measurement of natural gamma radiation emitted by a rock core, taken in a laboratory after retrieval from the well. The log is recorded by moving the core past a gamma ray detector, creating a continuous profile of radioactivity versus depth. This profile is then used to precisely align the physical core's depth with the depth recorded by the downhole gamma ray log run in the wellbore.
