Gamma-gamma log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001608
A well log that measures the density of a formation by emitting gamma rays into the rock and detecting the backscattered gamma rays. The tool contains a gamma ray source and two detectors, which measure the intensity of scattered photons. This measurement is primarily sensitive to the electron density of the formation, which is directly related to bulk density.
