Compensated density log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000776
A wireline measurement that determines formation bulk density by emitting gamma rays into the formation and detecting the scattered gamma rays. It includes a spine-and-ribs correction to account for the mudcake effect and borehole irregularities. This log is used to calculate porosity, identify lithology, and evaluate gas zones.
