Borehole compensation

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004242

A technique used in wireline logging to correct measurements for the effects of variations in borehole size, shape, and fluid properties. This involves using multiple detectors or sources on the logging tool to account for environmental influences. For example, a compensated neutron log uses two detectors to correct for borehole effects on porosity readings.
