Borehole orientation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000409
The spatial direction of a wellbore, described by its azimuth and inclination relative to true north and vertical. This measurement guides the drilling trajectory to intersect target formations accurately and avoid collisions with other wells. Borehole orientation is determined using downhole survey tools that record magnetic or gyroscopic readings.
