Deviation survey

A series of measurements taken at intervals along a wellbore to determine its inclination and azimuth. These surveys provide data to plot the actual path of the well and compare it to the planned trajectory. Common tools for these measurements include magnetic single-shot or multi-shot instruments, and gyroscopic tools.
