Inclinometer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001961
A sensor that measures tilt, meaning the angle of a surface or borehole away from vertical, using gravity as the reference. In a directional survey tool, accelerometer-based inclinometers give the wellbore inclination, while magnetometers supply the azimuth. Readings taken at survey stations along the well are combined with measured depth to calculate the well trajectory.
