Alpha processing
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000101
A signal processing technique applied to array induction logging data to correct for environmental effects, particularly those caused by the borehole and adjacent rock layers. It uses a weighted summation of signals from the multiple receiver coils to synthesize a focused measurement that has a desired radial and vertical response. The resulting log is less sensitive to borehole conductivity and provides a more accurate formation resistivity value than unprocessed measurements.
