Induction electrical survey
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001970
A well logging operation that measures formation resistivity using the principles of electromagnetic induction. The survey is conducted with a tool containing transmitter and receiver coils, which is lowered into the borehole to produce a continuous log of conductivity versus depth. This method is effective in non-conductive drilling muds, such as oil-based mud, where electrode-based resistivity tools cannot function.
