Electrical log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001270
A well log that measures the electrical properties of subsurface formations, primarily resistivity and spontaneous potential (SP). These measurements differentiate between rock types, identify fluid content, and estimate hydrocarbon saturation. Common electrical logs include induction logs, laterologs, and microresistivity devices, each designed for specific borehole conditions and formation types.
