Electrical impedance probe
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001269
A downhole logging tool that measures the opposition to alternating current flow in the wellbore fluids or formation. It detects changes in the electrical properties of fluids, distinguishing between oil, water, and gas based on their varying impedance characteristics. This measurement is expressed in ohms and can indicate fluid holdup and phase distribution.
