Electrical resistance probe
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001272
A device used to monitor corrosion by measuring the change in electrical resistance of a metallic element exposed to a corrosive environment. As the element corrodes, its cross-sectional area decreases, leading to an increase in electrical resistance. This method provides real-time or near real-time data on corrosion rates in pipelines and vessels.
