Optical probe
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002637
A downhole sensor that uses light to detect and characterize fluid phases in a wellbore. It typically consists of a light source and a detector, measuring changes in light intensity or refractive index as different fluids pass by. Optical probes are used to determine fluid holdup and identify the type of fluid present at a specific point.
