Refractive index
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003084
A dimensionless number indicating how much the speed of light is reduced when passing through a material compared to its speed in a vacuum. This value quantifies the bending of light as it enters a new medium. For water, the refractive index is approximately 1.33.
