Propagation resistivity measurement
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002975
A technique used in logging-while-drilling (LWD) tools to determine formation resistivity by measuring the properties of an electromagnetic wave traveling through the formation. The tool measures the phase shift and attenuation of a high-frequency wave between a transmitter and two receivers. These measurements are then converted into resistivity values that are less affected by the borehole environment than laterolog or induction measurements made on wireline.
