Propagation resistivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002974
A resistivity derived from the attenuation and the phase shift of a high-frequency electromagnetic wave, usually near 2 MHz, as it travels between a transmitter and two receivers. It is the standard logging-while-drilling resistivity measurement, and the phase-shift reading looks shallower than the attenuation reading. Wireline induction tools differ in that they work at tens of kilohertz and sense the in-phase conductivity signal, not wave propagation.
