Phase shift
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002771
The angular difference in the phase of an electromagnetic wave transmitted into the formation compared to the phase of the wave received by a detector. This shift is caused by the wave's propagation through the formation and is directly related to the formation's dielectric permittivity and conductivity. It is a primary measurement in high-frequency induction logging tools.
