Radial response
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003034
The characteristic of a logging tool that describes how its measurement is influenced by formation properties at different distances from the borehole wall. Tools with a shallow radial response are sensitive to the invaded zone, while tools with a deep response measure properties of the uninvaded formation. For example, a microresistivity tool has a radial depth of investigation of a few inches, whereas a deep induction tool can read several feet into the formation.
