Well log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004139
A continuous record of physical properties of rock formations encountered in a borehole, measured by instruments lowered into the well. These measurements provide data on lithology, porosity, fluid content, and permeability. Common types include gamma ray, resistivity, density, and sonic logs, which are interpreted to evaluate reservoir potential.
