Garrett Gas Train

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001609

An apparatus used for the quantitative analysis of soluble sulfide and carbonate concentrations in drilling fluids and water samples. The procedure involves flowing a carrier gas through an acidified sample, which liberates hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) gases. These gases then pass through a series of tubes containing specific chemical solutions that trap each component for measurement, with results reported in milligrams per liter (mg/L) or parts per million (ppm).
