Milligrams per liter
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002371
A unit of mass concentration equal to one milligram of solute per litre of solution. For dilute aqueous solutions with a density near 1 kg/L it is numerically the same as parts per million by mass, or mg/kg. Mud engineers report chloride, calcium, magnesium and sulfide in filtrates in this unit, and 1,000 mg/L equals 1 g/L.
