Ultrafine

Describing solid particles much finer than ordinary mud solids, with diameters from below one micrometre to a few micrometres depending on the material. Ultrafine calcium carbonate, barite and cement are used to bridge tight pore throats and microfractures and to fill narrow gaps. Ordinary API barite, by comparison, has a median size of roughly 20 micrometres.
