Sized calcium carbonate

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003432

A finely ground calcium carbonate material with a controlled particle size distribution, added to drilling fluids. It functions as a bridging agent to seal permeable formations and as a weighting agent to increase fluid density. The particle size is selected to match the pore throat dimensions of the rock being drilled.
